Nominations and Judging Process

CEOs from the European companies within the FT Global 500 are recruited into the EBLA Nominations Panel and invited to help identify the most respected leaders in business where they nominate up to two CEOs from European companies other than their own into the seven categories. The EBLA team then confirms the CEOs’ participation. Online nominations are encouraged with the specific achievements of the nominees included in the submissions.

Nominations are then forwarded to the EBLA advisory panel to calculate the results.

In November, the Judging Panel reviews the shortlist, looking at achievements, financial performance and key competitive indicators over the past twelve months, and then determine the finalists in each category.

The finalists are announced on CNBC and in the Financial Times in January 2009, to coincide with the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

The CEO Nominating Panellists are invited as special guests to a VIP gala reception and ceremony in London where the Award winners are announced, joining the finalists and other chairmen and CEOs.
